INTRODUCTION

Father, I know that all my life

Source of my life's refreshing springs,

My prayer to the promise shall cling --

Sweet is the solace of Thy love,

Source of my spirit's deep desire

Beam on us brightly, blessed day,

With a heart full of anxious request,

Though some good things of lower worth

In Heavenly Love abiding,

Would that I were more closely bound

Tender mercies, on my way

My Savior whose infinite grace

A living, loving, lasting word,

"Sing, O Heavens; and be joyful, O Earth; for the Lord hath comforted his people." -- Isaiah 49:13.

My Savior, on the word of truth

"He hath put a new song in my mouth, even thanksgiving unto our God." -- Psalm 40:3.

Strength of the still secluded thought,

"It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body." -- I Cor. 15:44.

O, this is blessing, this is rest --

My heart is resting, O my God, --

"I know, O Lord, that Thy judgments are right, and that Thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me." -- Psalm 119:75.

Be not far from me, O my strength,

Bowed with a burden none can weigh save Thee,

Sweet be Thy words of sternest truth,

"Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." -- 2 Cor. 12:9.

"All things are yours ... things present." -- 1 Cor. 3:21,22.

"I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment, that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance, and I will fill their treasures." -- Prov. 8:20,21.

Ere another step I take

"The Lord is risen."

Sunlight of the heavenly day,

Flow on, Thou Fountain of my joy,

O! there is more than ear hath heard,
