Psalm 56
Peshitta Holy Bible Translated Par ▾
Show mercy upon me, God, because man has trodden upon me, and all day the warrior has persecuted me, because a multitude of warriors has risen up against me.

My enemies have trodden upon me all day.

In the daytime I will not be afraid, because it is upon you I trust.

In God I shall triumph; in God I have hoped; I will not be afraid what a man does to me.

All day they have been conspiring against me and they have been plotting evil against me.

They will lie in wait and they will stay and they will watch my steps as they lay wait for my life.

And they said, "There is no Savior for him.” Judge them in the wrath of the nations, oh, God!

I have shown you my confession; put my tears before you and in your book.

Then my enemies shall turn their back and I shall know that God is for me.

I shall praise the word of God!

In God I trust. I will not fear what a man does to me.

To you, oh God, I shall fulfill my vows, and I shall offer thanksgiving to you.

Because you have delivered my soul from death and my feet from slipping, that I may be pleasing before you, God, in the land of the living.
