Psalm 101

I Will Set No Worthless Thing before My Eyes

1A Psalm. Of David.

1 I will sing of loving devotion and justice;

to You, O YHWH, I will sing praises.

2I will act wisely in the way of integrity.

When will You come to me?

I walk about in the integrity of my heart,

in the midst of my house.

3I do not set before my eyes

an object of worthlessness;

I have hated the work of those turning aside—

it shall not cling to me!

4A perverse heart shall depart from me;

evil I will not know.

5The one slandering his neighbor in secret, I will put an end

to him;

the high of eyes and proud of heart—

him I will not endure.

6My eyes are on the faithful ones of the land,

to dwell with me;

the one walking in the way of integrity, he

shall minister to me.

7There shall not dwell within my house

one working deceit;

the one speaking lies

shall not be fixed before my eyes.

8At morning I cut off all the wicked of the land,

to cut off from the city of YHWH all workers of iniquity!
