In Yahweh I Take Refuge
(Habakkuk 1:12–17)

1For the one directing. Of David.

1 In YHWH I have taken refuge.

How can you⁺ say to my soul,

“Flee to your⁺ mountain a bird!

2For, behold, the wicked tread the bow;

they make ready their arrow upon the string,

to shoot in the darkness at those upright in heart.

3If the foundations are thrown down,

the righteous—what can he do?”

4YHWH is is in His holy temple;

YHWH—in the heavens is His throne.

His eyes are watching,

His eyelids examine the sons of man.

5YHWH tests the righteous,

and His soul hates the wicked one and the lover of violence.

6May He rain down coals upon the wicked, fire and brimstone;

and a burning wind is the portion of their cup.

7For YHWH is righteous; He loves righteousness;

the upright one will see His face.
