Judith 3:8
Good News Translation
But Holofernes destroyed all their places of worship and cut down their sacred trees. He had been ordered to destroy all the gods of the land so that all the nations and tribes would worship only Nebuchadnezzar and pray to him as a god.

New Revised Standard Version
Yet he demolished all their shrines and cut down their sacred groves; for he had been commissioned to destroy all the gods of the land, so that all nations should worship Nebuchadnezzar alone, and that all their dialects and tribes should call upon him as a god.

Contemporary English Version
But when Holofernes arrived, he tore down all their places of worship and cut down their sacred poles. He did this because he had been ordered to get rid of their idols, so that every nation and tribe would worship only Nebuchadnezzar and pray to him as if he were a god.
