Good News Translation
Do no work on that day, because it is the day for performing the ritual to take away sin.

and you shall do no work during that entire day; for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before the LORD your God.

No one is to work on that day--it is the Great Day of Forgiveness, when sacrifices will be offered to me, so that I will forgive your sins.
