Wisdom 18:1
Good News Translation
Yet all the while a brilliant light was shining for your holy people. Their enemies heard their voices, but couldn't see them. They envied the good fortune of your people, who were not suffering.

But for your holy ones there was very great light. Their enemies heard their voices but did not see their forms, and counted them happy for not having suffered,

A bright light was shining on your chosen people. And although the Egyptians could not see your people, they could hear them and considered them lucky, because they were not suffering.
