Wisdom 19:5
Good News Translation
They were to meet a strange death, while your people continued on their miraculous journey.

The cloud was seen overshadowing the camp, and dry land emerging where water had stood before, an unhindered way out of the Red Sea, and a grassy plain out of the raging waves,

by dying an unusual death and so that your people would have an amazing journey.

Wisdom 19:3
For whilst they were yet mourning, and lamenting at the graves of the dead, they took up another foolish device: and pursued them as fugitives whom they had pressed to be gone:

For a necessity, of which they were worthy, brought them to this end: and they lost the remembrance of those things which had happened, that their punishment might fill up what was wanting to their torments:
