Revelation 20
Satan Bound
Triumph and Judgment: The Cosmic Clock of Revelation 20

Revelation 20 serves as a profound reminder of God's absolute sovereignty and the ultimate victory of good over evil. Despite the battles and tribulations, believers can find comfort in the promise of resurrection and eternal life with Christ. The final judgment is a testament to God's divine justice, ensuring that each individual is held accountable for their actions.

The Binding of Satan (Verses 1-3)

An angel from Heaven binds Satan, throwing him into the abyss and sealing it, so he cannot deceive the nations until the thousand years are over. This period, often referred to as the millennial reign, represents Christ's reign on Earth.

The Millennial Reign (Verses 4-6)

John sees thrones with people sitting on them—these are the souls of those martyred for their faith in Christ. They are resurrected to reign with Christ for a thousand years, known as the First Resurrection. Blessed and holy are they, for they will not be subject to the second death.

Satan’s Final Rebellion (Verses 7-10)

Once the thousand years are over, Satan is released from his prison. He deceives the nations once more, gathering them for battle. Fire from heaven devours them, and Satan is thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet.

The Great White Throne Judgment (Verses 11-15)

Finally, a vision of the Great White Throne Judgment emerges. All the dead, great and small, stand before the throne, and books are opened, including the Book of Life. Each person is judged according to their deeds. Death and Hades give up their dead, and anyone not found in the Book of Life is thrown into the lake of fire.
