Come together, all of you, and listen: Which of the idols has foretold these things? The LORD's chosen ally will carry out His desire against Babylon, and His arm will be against the Chaldeans.

Listen, a tumult on the mountains, like that of a great multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations gathered together! The LORD of Hosts musters an army for war.
They are coming from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens--the LORD and the weapons of His wrath--to destroy the whole country.
And Babylon, the jewel of the kingdoms, the glory of the pride of the Chaldeans, will be overthrown by God like Sodom and Gomorrah.
Look, here come the riders, horsemen in pairs." And one answered, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon! All the images of her gods lie shattered on the ground."
All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Who among them have declared this, and foretold the former things? Let them present their witnesses to vindicate themselves, so that others may hear and say, "It is true."
Come, gather together, and draw near, you fugitives of the nations. Ignorant are those who carry idols of wood and pray to a god that cannot save.
Speak up and present your case--yes, let them take counsel together. Who foretold this long ago? Who announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, the LORD? There is no other God but Me, a righteous God and Savior; there is none but Me.
I distinguish the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come, saying: 'My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.'
I summon a bird of prey from the east, a man for My purpose from a far-off land. Truly I have spoken, truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, I will surely do it.
"Go up against the land of Merathaim, and against the residents of Pekod. Put them to the sword and completely destroy them," declares the LORD. "Do everything I have commanded you.
Before your very eyes I will repay Babylon and all the residents of Chaldea for all the evil they have done in Zion," declares the LORD.
