1 Timothy 2
Easy Reader Bible: Purple Letter EditionKJP
1I urge, then, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all people - 2For kings, and all those in authority, that we may lead quiet and peaceful lives in all godliness and dignity. 3For this is good and pleasing to God our Savior, 4Who wants all people to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man, Christ Jesus, 6Who gave Himself as a ransom for all, as has been testified to in the proper time. 7And for this purpose I am ordained (appointed) a preacher, and an apostle - I speak the truth in Christ, and do not lie, nor exaggerate, but proclaim to the Gentiles this message of faith and truth.

8Therefore, I want everyone everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, free from wrath or doubting; 9I also want the women to dress modestly, with godly reverence and sobriety; not with elaborate hair styles, gold, pearls, or costly attire, 10But rather adorn themselves with the good things that they do. 11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to assume or usurp authority over men, but to listen in silence. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman, resulting in the transgression (original sin). 15But she shall be saved through childbearing, if they (women) continue in faith, love, and holiness with self-control.
