Acts 3

1Now Peter and John were going to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour (3PM). 2And a man, lame from his birth, was being carried, as they did daily, to be laid at the temple gate which is called Beautiful, to beg those entering the temple for alms; 3And when he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple, he asked them for money. 4Then Peter and John looked intently at him, and Peter said, “Look at us”. 5And he looked at them, expecting to receive something from them. 6Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have; but what I do have I will give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk.” 7And he took him by the right hand, and helped him up; and immediately his feet and ankles received strength. 8And he, leaping up, stood, and walked, and entered the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.

9And all the people saw him walking and praising God; 10And they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. 11And as the healed man clung to Peter and John in the porch called Solomon's Colonnade, all the people rushed out to them, utterly astounded. 12When Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “You people of Israel, why does this surprise you? Or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? 13The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son, Jesus; Whom you delivered up, and disowned before Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. 14But you rejected the Holy One and the Just, and asked that a murderer be released instead; 15And you killed the Author of life, Whom God then raised from the dead; of which fact we are witnesses. 16And by faith in Jesusname, this man that you see and know has just been completely healed, as you can see; the faith that comes from Jesus has restored his perfect soundness in your very presence.

17And now, brethren, I know that you acted through ignorance, as did your rulers also. 18But God has fulfilled what was foretold by all His prophets, that Christ should suffer. 19Therefore, repent, turn to God, and be converted, so that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord; 20Then God shall send the appointed Messiah, Jesus Christ, Who was proclaimed before to you; 21Whom heaven must receive until the time comes for the final restoration of all things, as God has promised long ago by the mouth of His holy prophets. 22For Moses indeed said to our fathers, “The Lord, your God, will raise up unto you from your brethren a Prophet, like me; you must listen carefully to whatever He shall say to you. 23And every soul, who will not hear that Prophet, shall be cut off from among the people.” (Deut. 18:15-19) 24Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel and those that came after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. 25You are the heirs of the prophets, and of the covenant God made with our fathers. He said to Abraham, “And through your offspring shall all the people (kindreds) of the earth be blessed.”(Gen.22:18) 26When God had raised up His Son, Jesus, He sent Him first unto you to bless you, by turning every one of you away from his wicked ways.”

Some Scripture verses referenced above: V23 - Deut. 18:15-19 - 15The LORD thy God will raise up unto you a Prophet from the midst of you, of your brethren, like unto me; unto him you shall hearken, 16According to all that you desired of the LORD your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, nor let me see this great fire any more, that I do not die. 17And the LORD said to me, ‘They have spoken well what they have said. 18I will raise up a Prophet to them from among their brethren, like you, and will put My words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him. 19And whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I will require it of him. V25 - Gen.12:1-3 - 1Now the LORD had said to Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, into a land that I will show you: 2And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing: 3And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.
