Daniel 12

1And at that time the (angel) Michael, the great prince who protects your people, shall stand up. There shall be a time of trouble, such as has never been since there was a nation even to then; and at that time your people shall be delivered - every one that is found written in the book. 2And many of them who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3And they that are wise shall shine like the brightness of the heavens; and they that turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

4But you, O Daniel, roll up and seal the words of this book, until the time of the end. Many shall run here and there, to increase knowledge.

5Then I, Daniel, looked, and, behold, there stood two others, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on the opposite bank of the river. 6And one said to the Man clothed in linen, Who was above the waters of the river, “How long shall it be until these astonishing wonders are fulfilled (shocking events are over)? 7And I heard the Man above the waters and clothed in linen, when He held up His right and left hand unto heaven, and swore by Him Who lives forever, that “It shall be for a time, times, and an half (3 ½ years); and when the power of the holy people has been finally broken (the persecution of God’s saints appears to have eradicated all believers), all these things will be completed”. 8And I heard what He said, but I did not understand. Then I said, “O my Lord, what shall be the outcome of all these things?” 9And He said, “Go your way, Daniel; because the words are roll up and sealed until the time of the end. 10Many shall be purified, and made spotless, tested and refined, but the wicked shall continue to do wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but only the wise shall understand what it means. 11“From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished, and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there shall be a thousand, two hundred ninety days. 12Blessed is he that waits, and perseveres to the end of a thousand, three hundred thirty-five days. 13But go your way until the end; for you shall rest, and then, at the end of the days, you shall rise to receive your inheritance set aside for you.”
