1The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, 2“Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre (Satan), ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Because or your prideful heart, you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the center of the seas’, yet you are a mere mortal man, and not God, though you think you are as wise as God, 3Behold, you regard yourself as wiser than Daniel; and think there is no secret that they can hide from you. 4With your wisdom and your understanding you have gotten yourself riches, gold and silver, into your treasuries; 5By your great skill in trading, you have increased your riches, and you have become prideful because of your riches”. 6Therefore, thus says the Sovereign LORD: “Because you have set yourself as wise as God, 7I will bring foreigners against you, the most terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against your beauty and wisdom, and they shall defile your splendor. 8They shall bring you down to the pit, and you shall die the violent death of those that die in the center of the seas. 9Will you yet say ‘I am a god’ to him that slays you? But you shall be but a mortal man, and not God, in the hand of the one who slays you. 10You shall die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of foreigners; for I have spoken it, says the Sovereign LORD.

11Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 12“Son of man, take up a lament over the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD God: “You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom, and exquisite beauty. 13You have been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you, the sardius, topaz, diamond, beryl, onyx, jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; all beautifully crafted in gold, prepared in you in the day that you were created. 14You were the anointed cherub that covered (guarded); for so I had appointed you; you were upon the holy mountain of God; you walked up and down in the center of the fiery stones. 15You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, till wickedness was found in you. 16By your widespread trade you have been filled with violence, and you have sinned; therefore, I banished you as profane and disgraced from the mount of God, and I will destroy you, O covering cherub, from the fiery stones. 17Your heart was filled with pride because of your beauty; you have corrupted your wisdom by your splendor; so I cast you to the ground, I will make you a spectacle before kings, and expose you to their curious gaze. 18You have defiled your sanctuaries with your many sins and dishonest and wicked trades; therefore, I will bring forth a fire to reduce you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that are watching you. 19All the nations who know you shall be appalled at you; you shall come to a horrible end; and you shall be no more.

20Again this word of the LORD came to me, 21“Son of man, turn and face the city of Sidon, and prophesy against it, 22And say, ‘Thus says the Sovereign LORD: “I am against you, O Sidon; and I will be glorified by what I do to you; when I shall have brought judgment upon you, I shall be sanctified in you, and all who watch shall know that I am the LORD. 23For I will send a plague upon you, and blood shall flow in your streets, and the slain shall fall on every side of your city; and they shall know that I am the LORD. 24And no longer will the people of Israel have malicious neighbors who are painful briers and sharp thorns.; and they shall know that I am the LORD God.

25Thus says the Sovereign LORD: When I shall have gathered the people of Israel from among the people to whom they are scattered, and shall be proven holy in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to My servant, Jacob. 26And they shall dwell safely in the land, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell there with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those around them that despise them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.
