2The sons of Japheth were; Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. 3And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. 4And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 5By these were the borders (isles) of the nations divided in their lands; each nation with its own language, after their families.

6And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan. 7And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba, and Dedan. 8And Cush fathered Nimrod; who became a mighty warrior on the earth. 9He was a skilled hunter before the LORD: that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD”. 10And his kingdom began with Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11Out of that land came Asshur (Assyria), and built Nineveh, the city Rehoboth, and Calah, 12And Resen between Nineveh and Calah, a great city. 13And Mizraim fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, 14Pathrusim, Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistines), and Caphtorim. 15And Canaan fathered Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth, 16And the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite, 17The Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite, 18The Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward the families of the Canaanites were spread abroad. 19And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you come to Gerar, to Gaza; then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, and on to Lasha. 20These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their languages, in their countries, and in their nations.

21Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber. 22The children of Shem were; Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram. 23And the children of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash. 24And Arpachshad fathered Shelah; and Shelah fathered Eber. 25And to Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan. 26And Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 27Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 28Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 29Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; these were all the sons of Joktan. 30And their territory stretched from Mesha, to Sephar, a hill country to the east. 31These are the sons of Shem, after their clans, with their languages, in their lands, after their nations.

32All these are the families (descendants) of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
