1But God remembered Noah, and all the creatures that were with him in the ark: and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters receded;
2The fountains (springs) of the deep and the floodgates of heaven were shut, and the rain from heaven was stopped;
3And the waters steadily receded from off the earth: and at the end of the hundred fifty days, the waters were abated.
4And the ark came to rest upon the mountains of Ararat on the seventeenth day of the seventh month.
5And the waters continued to recede until, on the first day of the tenth month, the peaks of the mountains were seen.
6And after the forty days, Noah opened the window he had made in the ark:
7And he sent out a raven, which flew back and forth, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
8He also sent out a dove, to see if the waters had abated from the surface of the ground;
9But the dove found no rest for her foot, and she returned to him in the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth: so he put out his hand, and pulled her into the ark.
10And he waited another seven days; and again he sent out the dove from the ark;
11And in the evening, the dove retuned to him; and in her beak was an olive leaf, freshly plucked: so Noah knew that the floodwaters were almost all gone from the earth.
12And he waited another seven days; and sent out the dove again; and she did not return to him anymore.
13And by the first day of the first month of the six hundred and first year, the surface of earth was free of the floodwater; and Noah removed the covering from the ark, and looked, and, indeed, the surface of the ground was dry.
14And by the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the earth was dried.
15And then God said to Noah,
16“Go out of the ark, you, your wife, your sons, and your sons' wives.
17Bring out with you every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, both of birds, cattle, wild animals, and everything that creeps on the ground; so that they may breed abundantly in the earth, be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth.”
18And Noah went forth, with his sons, wife, and his sons' wives with him:
19Every animal - birds, cattle, wild animals, and whatever creeps on the ground - after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
20And Noah built an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean animal, and of every clean fowl (bird), and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21And the LORD smelled a sweet pleasing aroma; and the LORD said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of mankind; for the inclination of mankind's heart is toward evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing, as I have just done.
