1The prophecy regarding Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides upon a swift cloud, and is coming to Egypt; and the idols of Egypt shall be tottered at His presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in fear. 2And I will stir one Egyptian against another; and they shall fight against each other, and neighbor against neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. 3And the Egyptians shall lose heart; and I will thwart their plans; and they shall consult their idols, their charmers, their mediums, and their wizards. 4And will I hand over the Egyptians to a cruel master; and a fierce king shall rule over them, says the LORD, the LORD Almighty.

5And the water of the river shall dry up and the riverbed shall be parched. 6The canals shall stink, the rivers of Egypt shall dwindle and dry up; the reeds and flags shall wither. 7The papyrus reeds along the mouth of the Nile River, and everything sown by tributaries, shall wither and be blown away. 8The fishermen also shall lament, and all who cast hooks or nets into the Nile shall languish. 9They who work with combed flax, and weave cotton cloth, shall be confounded. 10They who work with cloth shall despair, along with the wage earners; and those that make sluices and ponds for fish. 11The officials of Zoan are nothing but fools, the advice of you wise counselors to Pharaoh has become stupid. How can you say to Pharaoh, “I am one of the wise men, the disciple of ancient kings”? 12Where are your wise men now? Let them tell you now what the LORD Almighty has planned for Egypt. 13The officials of Zoan have become fools, the officials of Memphis are deluded; they have also led Egypt astray, even the leaders of its tribes. 14The LORD has sent a spirit confusion into their midst; and have caused Egypt to err in all that they do, like a drunkard staggering around in his vomit. 15Nor is there anything that Egypt can do - head or tail, branch, or rush.

16In that day shall the Egyptians become weaklings; and tremble in fear of the raised hand of the LORD Almighty. 17And the land of Judah shall be a terror to Egypt, just at mention of Judah every one shall be terrified, because of what the LORD Almighty has determined against Egypt. 18In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear allegiance to the LORD Almighty. One shall be called, “The city of destruction.” 19In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the LORD at its border. 20It shall be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt; for when they shall cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, He shall send them a Savior, and a Great One, and He shall deliver them. 21And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall acknowledge the LORD in that day, and shall worship Him with sacrifices and grain offerings; yea, they shall make vows unto the LORD, and shall keep them. 22The LORD shall strike Egypt with a plague; He shall strike them, and then heal them; and they shall return to the LORD, and He shall respond to their pleas, and shall heal them. 23In that day there shall be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come to Egypt, and the Egyptian to Assyria, and the Egyptians shall worship the LORD with the Assyrians. 24In that day shall Israel be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth, 25Whom the LORD Almighty shall bless by saying, “Blessed be Egypt, My people, and Assyria, the work of My hands, and Israel, My inheritance”.
