11And as they listened to this, He went on to tell them a parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and the people thought that the kingdom of God would immediately appear. 12 And so He said, “A certain man oof noble birth went to a far country to be crowned king there, and then return. 13And he called his ten servants, and gave them ten pounds, and said unto them, “Put this money to work until I come back”. 14But his subjects hated him, and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We will not have this man to be our king’. 15And when he returned, having received the kingdom, he summoned those servants, to whom he had given the money, to him, to find out how much each man had gained by trading. 16The first one came, and said, ‘Lord, your pound has gained ten pounds’. 17And he said to him, ‘Well done, my good servant; because you have been faithful in a very little, you will now have authority over ten cities’. 18And the second came, and said, ‘Lord, your pound has gained five pounds’. 19And he told him likewise, ‘You will also be given authority over five cities’. 20And the third came, and said, ‘Lord, behold, here is your pound, which I have kept it hidden safely away; 21Becaues I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man who takes up what he hasn’t put down, and reaps where he hasn’t sown’. 22And he said to him, ‘By the words out your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow. 23Why, then, did you not invest my money at the bank, that when I returned, I might have collected my money with interest?’ 24And he said to all those that stood by, ‘Take the pound from him, and give it to him who has ten pounds’. 25And they said to him, ‘Sir, he already has ten pounds! 26And he replied, I tell you, that to everyone who has, more shall be given; and from him who has nothing, even what little he has shall be taken away from him. 27But those enemies of mine, who would not accept me as their king, bring them here and execute them in front of me.”

28And when Jesus had said this, He led the way, ascending toward Jerusalem. 29And when He approached Bethphage and Bethany, at the hill called the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples, 30Saying to them, “Go into the village ahead; and as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no one has ever sat. Untie it; and bring it here. 31And if any man ask you, ‘Why are you untying it?’, say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of him’”. 32And those that were sent went, and found it just as He had told them. 33And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34And they said, “The Lord has need of him”. 35And they brought him to Jesus; and they threw their cloaks on the colt, and they set Jesus on it. 36And as He went along, people spread their clothes on the road. 37And when He came near where the road descends to the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with loud voices for all the miracle that they had seen, 38Saying, “Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord; peace in heaven, and glory in the highest”. 39And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Master, reprimand Your disciples”. 40And He answered them, “I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones along the road cry out”.

41And when He approached Jerusalem, and saw the city, He wept over it, 42And said, “If only you, even you, had understood on this day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43For the days shall come upon you, when your enemies shall build barricades around you, and hem you in on every side, 44And shall level you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave within you one stone upon another; because you failed recognize the time of your visitation from God.”

45And Jesus went into the temple, and began to drive out those that bought and sold within it, 46Saying to them, “It is written, My house will be the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves”. 47And each day He taught in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, sought ways to destroy Him, 48 But could not find a way because all the people were very desirous to hear Him.
