14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee; and reports about Him spread through all that region. 15And He taught in their synagogues, being praised by all. 16And then He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and, as was His custom, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17And there was delivered to Him the book (scroll) of the prophet Isaiah. And He unrolled it to the place where it was written; and read, 18“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those that are oppressed, 19To preach (proclaim) the acceptable year of the Lord”. 20And He closed the book (rolled up the scroll), and He gave it back to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all those in the synagogue were fastened on Him. 21And He said to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing”. 22And all spoke well of Him, and were amazed at the gracious words that He spoke. And they said, “Is this not Joseph's Son?” 23And He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal Yourself; do here in Your hometown what we have heard that You have done in Capernaum,’”. 24And He said, “Truly I tell you, ‘No prophet is accepted in his own hometown’. 25But I assure you that there many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and a great famine was throughout all the land; 26But to none of them was Elijah sent, except only to Zarephath, a city of Sidon, to a widow woman. 27And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha, the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian”. 28And all those in the synagogue were furious when they heard Him say these things, 29And they rose up, and drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, in order to throw Him down headlong. 30But He walked through the mob of them, went His way.

31And then He went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and taught them on the Sabbath days. 32And they were astonished at His doctrine; for His words had authority. 33And in the synagogue there was a man, who was possessed by a demon, and cried out with a loud voice, 34“Let us alone; what have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know You, Who You are; the Holy One of God.” 35And Jesus rebuked him by saying, “Be quiet! and come out of him.” And when the demon had thrown him down before them all, he came out of him, without injuring him. 36And they were all amazed, and said to one another, “What words these are! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out”. 37And the news of Him spread into every part of the country around there. 38And Jesus left the synagogue, and entered Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was suffering from a high fever; and they asked Him to help her. 39And He bent over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her; and she immediately arose and began waiting upon them. 40Then at sunset, the people brough all those with various diseases to Him; and He laid His hands on them, and healed every one of them. 41And moreover, demons also came out of many people, shouting, “You are Christ, the Son of God”. And He rebuked them, and did not allow them to speak; for they knew that He was Christ (the Messiah).

42And at daybreak, He left to go into a desert (solitary) place; and the people went looking for Him, and came to Him, and tried to restrain Him, to prevent Him from leaving them. 43But He told them, “I must preach (proclaim) the kingdom of God to other towns also; for that is why I was sent”. 44And He continues to preach in the synagogues of Galilee (Judea).
