1He that remains stiff-necked, being often corrected, shall suddenly come to ruin, and that without remedy.
2When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn.
3Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but he that keeps company with harlots squanders his substance.
4A just king establishes stability in the land, but he that takes bribes destroys it.
5Those that flatter his neighbor are usually laying a trap for him.
6In the transgressors are trapped by their own sin; but the righteous escape and sing for joy.
7The righteous cares about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.
8Scoffers bring a city into turmoil, but wise men assuage wrath.
9If a wise man has an argument with a foolish man, there will be ranting and ridicule, but no satisfaction.
10The bloodthirsty hate the upright, but the just care about others’ souls.
11A fool vents all his rage; but a wise man quietly holds it in.
12If a ruler listens to lies, all his servants will be wicked.
13The poor and those that oppress the poor have this in common: the LORD gives sight to the eyes of both.
14The throne of the king that faithfully judges the poor shall be established forever.
15The rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but an undisciplined child brings his mother to shame.
16When the wicked flourish, transgression increases; but the righteous shall live to see their fall.
17Correct your son, and he shall give you peace; yea, he shall give delight unto your soul.
18Where there is no vision, the people perish; but blessed is he that keeps the law.
19A servant will not be corrected by words alone; for though he understands, he will not respond.
20Do you see a man that is too quick with his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
21A servant that was pampered from a child will at the length become insolent or rebellious.
22An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.
23A man's pride shall bring him low, but the humble in spirit shall know honor.
24Whoever partners with a thief hates his own soul; he reveals nothing, even under oath.
25The fear of man will prove a snare; but whoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
26Many seek access to rulers, but it is from the LORD every man gets justice.
