1After this I looked, and, there before me, was a door standing open in heaven; and the voice which I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”
2And at once I was in the Spirit, and before me was a throne in heaven, and One seated on that throne. (I Ki.22:19)
3And the One Who sat upon that throne had the appearance of jasper and a sardius (carnelian or ruby) stone; and there was the radiance of a rainbow shining like an emerald all around the throne.
4And surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated upon those thrones I saw twenty-four elders, clothed in white; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.
5And out of the throne came lightning flashes and thunder claps; and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the Seven Spirits of God (Ezek.1:13).
6And in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal; and around the center of the throne were four living creatures that had many eyes both in front and back.
7And the first of the living creatures was like a lion; the second, like a calf; the third had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.
8And each of these four living creatures had six wings; and they were covered all over with eyes; and they never rest from saying, day and night, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, Who ever was, and is, and will always be”.
9And whenever those living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to Him that sat on the throne, Who lives forever and ever,
10The twenty-four elders would fall down before Him who sat on the throne, and worship Him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, and say,
