BSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleNew Living Translation
For the choirmaster. According to Gittith. Of Asaph. Sing for joy to God our strength; make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob.1Sing praises to God, our strength. Sing to the God of Jacob.
Lift up a song, strike the tambourine, play the sweet-sounding harp and lyre.2Sing! Beat the tambourine. Play the sweet lyre and the harp.
Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon, and at the full moon on the day of our Feast.3Blow the ram’s horn at new moon, and again at full moon to call a festival!
For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.4For this is required by the decrees of Israel; it is a regulation of the God of Jacob.
He ordained it as a testimony for Joseph when he went out over the land of Egypt, where I heard an unfamiliar language:5He made it a law for Israel when he attacked Egypt to set us free. I heard an unknown voice say,
“I relieved his shoulder of the burden; his hands were freed from the basket.6“Now I will take the load from your shoulders; I will free your hands from their heavy tasks.
You called out in distress, and I rescued you; I answered you from the cloud of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah7You cried to me in trouble, and I saved you; I answered out of the thundercloud and tested your faith when there was no water at Meribah. Interlude
Hear, O My people, and I will warn you: O Israel, if only you would listen to Me!8“Listen to me, O my people, while I give you stern warnings. O Israel, if you would only listen to me!
There must be no strange god among you, nor shall you bow to a foreign god.9You must never have a foreign god; you must not bow down before a false god.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth, and I will fill it.10For it was I, the LORD your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things.
But My people would not listen to Me, and Israel would not obey Me.11“But no, my people wouldn’t listen. Israel did not want me around.
So I gave them up to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.12So I let them follow their own stubborn desires, living according to their own ideas.
If only My people would listen to Me, if Israel would follow My ways,13Oh, that my people would listen to me! Oh, that Israel would follow me, walking in my paths!
how soon I would subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their foes!14How quickly I would then subdue their enemies! How soon my hands would be upon their foes!
Those who hate the LORD would feign obedience, and their doom would last forever.15Those who hate the LORD would cringe before him; they would be doomed forever.
But I would feed you the finest wheat; with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”16But I would feed you with the finest wheat. I would satisfy you with wild honey from the rock.”
