HCSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
How happy are those whose way is blameless, who live according to the LORD's instruction! 1Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD!
Happy are those who keep His decrees and seek Him with all their heart. 2Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart,
They do nothing wrong; they follow His ways. 3who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!
You have commanded that Your precepts be diligently kept. 4You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently.
If only my ways were committed to keeping Your statutes! 5Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes!
Then I would not be ashamed when I think about all Your commands. 6Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
I will praise You with a sincere heart when I learn Your righteous judgments. 7I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous rules.
I will keep Your statutes; never abandon me. 8I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me!
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping Your word. 9How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.
I have sought You with all my heart; don't let me wander from Your commands. 10With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!
I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You. 11I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
LORD, may You be praised; teach me Your statutes. 12Blessed are you, O LORD; teach me your statutes!
With my lips I proclaim all the judgments from Your mouth. 13With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth.
I rejoice in the way revealed by Your decrees as much as in all riches. 14In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches.
I will meditate on Your precepts and think about Your ways. 15I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.
I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. 16I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
Deal generously with Your servant so that I might live; then I will keep Your word. 17Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and keep your word.
Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wonderful things from Your instruction. 18Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.
I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me. 19I am a sojourner on the earth; hide not your commandments from me!
I am continually overcome with longing for Your judgments. 20My soul is consumed with longing for your rules at all times.
You rebuke the proud, the ones under a curse, who wander from Your commands. 21You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments.
Take insult and contempt away from me, for I have kept Your decrees. 22Take away from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies.
Though princes sit together speaking against me, Your servant will think about Your statutes; 23Even though princes sit plotting against me, your servant will meditate on your statutes.
Your decrees are my delight and my counselors. 24Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.
My life is down in the dust; give me life through Your word. 25My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word!
I told You about my life, and You listened to me; teach me Your statutes. 26When I told of my ways, you answered me; teach me your statutes!
Help me understand the meaning of Your precepts so that I can meditate on Your wonders. 27Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works.
I am weary from grief; strengthen me through Your word. 28My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word!
Keep me from the way of deceit and graciously give me Your instruction. 29Put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law!
I have chosen the way of truth; I have set Your ordinances before me. 30I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me.
I cling to Your decrees; LORD, do not put me to shame. 31I cling to your testimonies, O LORD; let me not be put to shame!
I pursue the way of Your commands, for You broaden my understanding. 32I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!
Teach me, LORD, the meaning of Your statutes, and I will always keep them. 33Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end.
Help me understand Your instruction, and I will obey it and follow it with all my heart. 34Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.
Help me stay on the path of Your commands, for I take pleasure in it. 35Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it.
Turn my heart to Your decrees and not to material gain. 36Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!
Turn my eyes from looking at what is worthless; give me life in Your ways. 37Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.
Confirm what You said to Your servant, for it produces reverence for You. 38Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared.
Turn away the disgrace I dread; indeed, Your judgments are good. 39Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good.
How I long for Your precepts! Give me life through Your righteousness. 40Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!
Let Your faithful love come to me, LORD, Your salvation, as You promised. 41Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise;
Then I can answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in Your word. 42then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me, for I trust in your word.
Never take the word of truth from my mouth, for I hope in Your judgments. 43And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in your rules.
I will always obey Your instruction, forever and ever. 44I will keep your law continually, forever and ever,
I will walk freely in an open place because I seek Your precepts. 45and I shall walk in a wide place, for I have sought your precepts.
I will speak of Your decrees before kings and not be ashamed. 46I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame,
I delight in Your commands, which I love. 47for I find my delight in your commandments, which I love.
I will lift up my hands to Your commands, which I love, and will meditate on Your statutes. 48I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.
Remember Your word to Your servant; You have given me hope through it. 49Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope.
This is my comfort in my affliction: Your promise has given me life. 50This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.
The arrogant constantly ridicule me, but I do not turn away from Your instruction. 51The insolent utterly deride me, but I do not turn away from your law.
LORD, I remember Your judgments from long ago and find comfort. 52When I think of your rules from of old, I take comfort, O LORD.
Rage seizes me because of the wicked who reject Your instruction. 53Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake your law.
Your statutes are the theme of my song during my earthly life. 54Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my sojourning.
Yahweh, I remember Your name in the night, and I obey Your instruction. 55I remember your name in the night, O LORD, and keep your law.
This is my practice: I obey Your precepts. 56This blessing has fallen to me, that I have kept your precepts.
The LORD is my portion; I have promised to keep Your words. 57The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep your words.
I have sought Your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to Your promise. 58I entreat your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.
I thought about my ways and turned my steps back to Your decrees. 59When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies;
I hurried, not hesitating to keep Your commands. 60I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments.
Though the ropes of the wicked were wrapped around me, I did not forget Your instruction. 61Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me, I do not forget your law.
I rise at midnight to thank You for Your righteous judgments. 62At midnight I rise to praise you, because of your righteous rules.
I am a friend to all who fear You, to those who keep Your precepts. 63I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts.
LORD, the earth is filled with Your faithful love; teach me Your statutes. 64The earth, O LORD, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes!
LORD, You have treated Your servant well, just as You promised. 65You have dealt well with your servant, O LORD, according to your word.
Teach me good judgment and discernment, for I rely on Your commands. 66Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.
Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. 67Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word.
You are good, and You do what is good; teach me Your statutes. 68You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.
The arrogant have smeared me with lies, but I obey Your precepts with all my heart. 69The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts;
Their hearts are hard and insensitive, but I delight in Your instruction. 70their heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law.
It was good for me to be afflicted so that I could learn Your statutes. 71It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.
Instruction from Your lips is better for me than thousands of gold and silver pieces. 72The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.
Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding so that I can learn Your commands. 73Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.
Those who fear You will see me and rejoice, for I put my hope in Your word. 74Those who fear you shall see me and rejoice, because I have hoped in your word.
I know, LORD, that Your judgments are just and that You have afflicted me fairly. 75I know, O LORD, that your rules are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
May Your faithful love comfort me as You promised Your servant. 76Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.
May Your compassion come to me so that I may live, for Your instruction is my delight. 77Let your mercy come to me, that I may live; for your law is my delight.
Let the arrogant be put to shame for slandering me with lies; I will meditate on Your precepts. 78Let the insolent be put to shame, because they have wronged me with falsehood; as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.
Let those who fear You, those who know Your decrees, turn to me. 79Let those who fear you turn to me, that they may know your testimonies.
May my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes so that I will not be put to shame. 80May my heart be blameless in your statutes, that I may not be put to shame!
I long for Your salvation; I put my hope in Your word. 81My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word.
My eyes grow weary looking for what You have promised; I ask, "When will You comfort me?" 82My eyes long for your promise; I ask, “When will you comfort me?”
Though I have become like a wineskin dried by smoke, I do not forget Your statutes. 83For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, yet I have not forgotten your statutes.
How many days must Your servant wait? When will You execute judgment on my persecutors? 84How long must your servant endure? When will you judge those who persecute me?
The arrogant have dug pits for me; they violate Your instruction. 85The insolent have dug pitfalls for me; they do not live according to your law.
All Your commands are true; people persecute me with lies--help me! 86All your commandments are sure; they persecute me with falsehood; help me!
They almost ended my life on earth, but I did not abandon Your precepts. 87They have almost made an end of me on earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts.
Give me life in accordance with Your faithful love, and I will obey the decree You have spoken. 88In your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth.
LORD, Your word is forever; it is firmly fixed in heaven. 89Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.
Your faithfulness is for all generations; You established the earth, and it stands firm. 90Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.
They stand today in accordance with Your judgments, for all things are Your servants. 91By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.
If Your instruction had not been my delight, I would have died in my affliction. 92If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
I will never forget Your precepts, for You have given me life through them. 93I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.
I am Yours; save me, for I have sought Your precepts. 94I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts.
The wicked hope to destroy me, but I contemplate Your decrees. 95The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies.
I have seen a limit to all perfection, but Your command is without limit. 96I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad.
How I love Your instruction! It is my meditation all day long. 97Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.
Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are always with me. 98Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me.
I have more insight than all my teachers because Your decrees are my meditation. 99I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.
I understand more than the elders because I obey Your precepts. 100I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts.
I have kept my feet from every evil path to follow Your word. 101I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word.
I have not turned from Your judgments, for You Yourself have instructed me. 102I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me.
How sweet Your word is to my taste-- sweeter than honey in my mouth. 103How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
I gain understanding from Your precepts; therefore I hate every false way. 104Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path. 105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
I have solemnly sworn to keep Your righteous judgments. 106I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules.
I am severely afflicted; LORD, give me life through Your word. 107I am severely afflicted; give me life, O LORD, according to your word!
LORD, please accept my willing offerings of praise, and teach me Your judgments. 108Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O LORD, and teach me your rules.
My life is constantly in danger, yet I do not forget Your instruction. 109I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law.
The wicked have set a trap for me, but I have not wandered from Your precepts. 110The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts.
I have Your decrees as a heritage forever; indeed, they are the joy of my heart. 111Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
I am resolved to obey Your statutes to the very end. 112I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.
I hate those who are double-minded, but I love Your instruction. 113I hate the double-minded, but I love your law.
You are my shelter and my shield; I put my hope in Your word. 114You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word.
Depart from me, you evil ones, so that I may obey my God's commands. 115Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.
Sustain me as You promised, and I will live; do not let me be ashamed of my hope. 116Uphold me according to your promise, that I may live, and let me not be put to shame in my hope!
Sustain me so that I can be safe and always be concerned about Your statutes. 117Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for your statutes continually!
You reject all who stray from Your statutes, for their deceit is a lie. 118You spurn all who go astray from your statutes, for their cunning is in vain.
You remove all the wicked on earth as if they were dross; therefore, I love Your decrees. 119All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross, therefore I love your testimonies.
I tremble in awe of You; I fear Your judgments. 120My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments.
I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors. 121I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors.
Guarantee Your servant's well-being; do not let the arrogant oppress me. 122Give your servant a pledge of good; let not the insolent oppress me.
My eyes grow weary looking for Your salvation and for Your righteous promise. 123My eyes long for your salvation and for the fulfillment of your righteous promise.
Deal with Your servant based on Your faithful love; teach me Your statutes. 124Deal with your servant according to your steadfast love, and teach me your statutes.
I am Your servant; give me understanding so that I may know Your decrees. 125I am your servant; give me understanding, that I may know your testimonies!
It is time for the LORD to act, for they have violated Your instruction. 126It is time for the LORD to act, for your law has been broken.
Since I love Your commands more than gold, even the purest gold, 127Therefore I love your commandments above gold, above fine gold.
I carefully follow all Your precepts and hate every false way. 128Therefore I consider all your precepts to be right; I hate every false way.
Your decrees are wonderful; therefore I obey them. 129Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them.
The revelation of Your words brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced. 130The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.
I open my mouth and pant because I long for Your commands. 131I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commandments.
Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is Your practice toward those who love Your name. 132Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is your way with those who love your name.
Make my steps steady through Your promise; don't let any sin dominate me. 133Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.
Redeem me from human oppression, and I will keep Your precepts. 134Redeem me from man’s oppression, that I may keep your precepts.
Show favor to Your servant, and teach me Your statutes. 135Make your face shine upon your servant, and teach me your statutes.
My eyes pour out streams of tears because people do not follow Your instruction. 136My eyes shed streams of tears, because people do not keep your law.
You are righteous, LORD, and Your judgments are just. 137Righteous are you, O LORD, and right are your rules.
The decrees You issue are righteous and altogether trustworthy. 138You have appointed your testimonies in righteousness and in all faithfulness.
My anger overwhelms me because my foes forget Your words. 139My zeal consumes me, because my foes forget your words.
Your word is completely pure, and Your servant loves it. 140Your promise is well tried, and your servant loves it.
I am insignificant and despised, but I do not forget Your precepts. 141I am small and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts.
Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your instruction is true. 142Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true.
Trouble and distress have overtaken me, but Your commands are my delight. 143Trouble and anguish have found me out, but your commandments are my delight.
Your decrees are righteous forever. Give me understanding, and I will live. 144Your testimonies are righteous forever; give me understanding that I may live.
I call with all my heart; answer me, LORD. I will obey Your statutes. 145With my whole heart I cry; answer me, O LORD! I will keep your statutes.
I call to You; save me, and I will keep Your decrees. 146I call to you; save me, that I may observe your testimonies.
I rise before dawn and cry out for help; I put my hope in Your word. 147I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words.
I am awake through each watch of the night to meditate on Your promise. 148My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise.
In keeping with Your faithful love, hear my voice. LORD, give me life in keeping with Your justice. 149Hear my voice according to your steadfast love; O LORD, according to your justice give me life.
Those who pursue evil plans come near; they are far from Your instruction. 150They draw near who persecute me with evil purpose; they are far from your law.
You are near, LORD, and all Your commands are true. 151But you are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are true.
Long ago I learned from Your decrees that You have established them forever. 152Long have I known from your testimonies that you have founded them forever.
Consider my affliction and rescue me, for I have not forgotten Your instruction. 153Look on my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget your law.
Defend my cause and redeem me; give me life as You promised. 154Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to your promise!
Salvation is far from the wicked because they do not seek Your statutes. 155Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes.
Your compassions are many, LORD; give me life according to Your judgments. 156Great is your mercy, O LORD; give me life according to your rules.
My persecutors and foes are many. I have not turned from Your decrees. 157Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, but I do not swerve from your testimonies.
I have seen the disloyal and feel disgust because they do not keep Your word. 158I look at the faithless with disgust, because they do not keep your commands.
Consider how I love Your precepts; LORD, give me life according to Your faithful love. 159Consider how I love your precepts! Give me life according to your steadfast love.
The entirety of Your word is truth, and all Your righteous judgments endure forever. 160The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.
Princes have persecuted me without cause, but my heart fears only Your word. 161Princes persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of your words.
I rejoice over Your promise like one who finds vast treasure. 162I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil.
I hate and abhor falsehood, but I love Your instruction. 163I hate and abhor falsehood, but I love your law.
I praise You seven times a day for Your righteous judgments. 164Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous rules.
Abundant peace belongs to those who love Your instruction; nothing makes them stumble. 165Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.
LORD, I hope for Your salvation and carry out Your commands. 166I hope for your salvation, O LORD, and I do your commandments.
I obey Your decrees and love them greatly. 167My soul keeps your testimonies; I love them exceedingly.
I obey Your precepts and decrees, for all my ways are before You. 168I keep your precepts and testimonies, for all my ways are before you.
Let my cry reach You, LORD; give me understanding according to Your word. 169Let my cry come before you, O LORD; give me understanding according to your word!
Let my plea reach You; rescue me according to Your promise. 170Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word.
My lips pour out praise, for You teach me Your statutes. 171My lips will pour forth praise, for you teach me your statutes.
My tongue sings about Your promise, for all Your commands are righteous. 172My tongue will sing of your word, for all your commandments are right.
May Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts. 173Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.
I long for Your salvation, LORD, and Your instruction is my delight. 174I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law is my delight.
Let me live, and I will praise You; may Your judgments help me. 175Let my soul live and praise you, and let your rules help me.
I wander like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, for I do not forget Your commands. 176I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.
