Psalm 86
KJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew International Version
A Prayer of David. Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.1A prayer of David. Hear me, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.2Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God;
Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.3have mercy on me, Lord, for I call to you all day long.
Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.4Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.5You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.
Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.6Hear my prayer, LORD; listen to my cry for mercy.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.7When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.
Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.8Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.
All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.9All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name.
For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.10For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.11Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.12I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.13For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.
O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.14Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me-- they have no regard for you.
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.15But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.16Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; save me, because I serve you just as my mother did.
Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.17Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
