Psalm 143
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.1Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous.
And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.2Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you.
For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.3My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave.
Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.4I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear.
I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.5I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done.
I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.6I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. Interlude
Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.7Come quickly, LORD, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me, or I will die.
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.8Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.
Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.9Rescue me from my enemies, LORD; I run to you to hide me.
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.
Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.11For the glory of your name, O LORD, preserve my life. Because of your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress.
And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.12In your unfailing love, silence all my enemies and destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.
