Psalm 26
King James BibleNew Living Translation
A Psalm of David. Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.1Declare me innocent, O LORD, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.
Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.2Put me on trial, LORD, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart.
For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.3For I am always aware of your unfailing love, and I have lived according to your truth.
I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.4I do not spend time with liars or go along with hypocrites.
I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.5I hate the gatherings of those who do evil, and I refuse to join in with the wicked.
I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:6I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O LORD,
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.7singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of all your wonders.
LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.8I love your sanctuary, LORD, the place where your glorious presence dwells.
Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:9Don’t let me suffer the fate of sinners. Don’t condemn me along with murderers.
In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.10Their hands are dirty with evil schemes, and they constantly take bribes.
But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.11But I am not like that; I live with integrity. So redeem me and show me mercy.
My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.12Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the LORD.
