Psalm 86
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
A Prayer of David. Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.1Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help.
Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.2Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God.
Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.3Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly.
Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.4Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.5O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.6Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.7I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me.
Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.8No pagan god is like you, O Lord. None can do what you do!
All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.9All the nations you made will come and bow before you, Lord; they will praise your holy name.
For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.10For you are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God.
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.11Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.12With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever,
For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.13for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death.
O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.14O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me. You mean nothing to them.
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.15But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.
O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.16Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant; save me, the son of your servant.
Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.17Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me.
