For the choir director. A Psalm of David. O LORD, in Your strength the king will be glad, And in Your salvation how greatly he will rejoice!1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
You have given him his heart's desire, And You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.2Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
For You meet him with the blessings of good things; You set a crown of fine gold on his head.3For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
He asked life of You, You gave it to him, Length of days forever and ever.4He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
His glory is great through Your salvation, Splendor and majesty You place upon him.5His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence.6For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
For the king trusts in the LORD, And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.7For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
Your hand will find out all your enemies; Your right hand will find out those who hate you.8Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
You will make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger; The LORD will swallow them up in His wrath, And fire will devour them.9Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
Their offspring You will destroy from the earth, And their descendants from among the sons of men.10Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
Though they intended evil against You And devised a plot, They will not succeed.11For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
For You will make them turn their back; You will aim with Your bowstrings at their faces.12Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
Be exalted, O LORD, in Your strength; We will sing and praise Your power.13Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
