Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead--1Παῦλος ἀπόστολος οὐκ ἀπ’ ἀνθρώπων οὐδὲ δι’ ἀνθρώπου ἀλλὰ διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ καὶ Θεοῦ Πατρὸς τοῦ ἐγείραντος αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν
and all the brothers and sisters with me, To the churches in Galatia:2καὶ οἱ σὺν ἐμοὶ πάντες ἀδελφοί Ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς Γαλατίας
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,3Χάρις ὑμῖν καὶ εἰρήνη ἀπὸ Θεοῦ Πατρὸς ἡμῶν «καὶ Κυρίου» Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ
who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,4τοῦ δόντος ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ἡμῶν ὅπως ἐξέληται ἡμᾶς ἐκ τοῦ αἰῶνος τοῦ ἐνεστῶτος πονηροῦ κατὰ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ Πατρὸς ἡμῶν
to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.5 δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων ἀμήν
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel--6Θαυμάζω ὅτι οὕτως ταχέως μετατίθεσθε ἀπὸ τοῦ καλέσαντος ὑμᾶς ἐν χάριτι Χριστοῦ εἰς ἕτερον εὐαγγέλιον
which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.7 οὐκ ἔστιν ἄλλο εἰ μή τινές εἰσιν οἱ ταράσσοντες ὑμᾶς καὶ θέλοντες μεταστρέψαι τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ Χριστοῦ
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!8Ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐὰν ἡμεῖς ἄγγελος ἐξ οὐρανοῦ εὐαγγελίζηται* ὑμῖν παρ’ εὐηγγελισάμεθα ὑμῖν ἀνάθεμα ἔστω
As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God's curse!9ὡς προειρήκαμεν καὶ ἄρτι πάλιν λέγω εἴ τις ὑμᾶς εὐαγγελίζεται παρ’ παρελάβετε ἀνάθεμα ἔστω
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.10Ἄρτι γὰρ ἀνθρώπους πείθω τὸν Θεόν ζητῶ ἀνθρώποις ἀρέσκειν εἰ ἔτι ἀνθρώποις ἤρεσκον Χριστοῦ δοῦλος οὐκ ἂν ἤμην
I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.11γνωρίζω γὰρ ὑμῖν ἀδελφοί τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τὸ εὐαγγελισθὲν ὑπ’ ἐμοῦ ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν κατὰ ἄνθρωπον
I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.12οὐδὲ γὰρ ἐγὼ παρὰ ἀνθρώπου παρέλαβον αὐτό οὔτε ἐδιδάχθην ἀλλὰ δι’ ἀποκαλύψεως Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ
For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.13Ἠκούσατε γὰρ τὴν ἐμὴν ἀναστροφήν ποτε ἐν τῷ Ἰουδαϊσμῷ ὅτι καθ’ ὑπερβολὴν ἐδίωκον τὴν ἐκκλησίαν τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ ἐπόρθουν αὐτήν
I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.14καὶ προέκοπτον ἐν τῷ Ἰουδαϊσμῷ ὑπὲρ πολλοὺς συνηλικιώτας ἐν τῷ γένει μου περισσοτέρως ζηλωτὴς ὑπάρχων τῶν πατρικῶν μου παραδόσεων
But when God, who set me apart from my mother's womb and called me by his grace, was pleased15Ὅτε δὲ εὐδόκησεν [ὁ θεὸς] ἀφορίσας με ἐκ κοιλίας μητρός μου καὶ καλέσας διὰ τῆς χάριτος αὐτοῦ
to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being.16ἀποκαλύψαι τὸν Υἱὸν αὐτοῦ ἐν ἐμοὶ ἵνα εὐαγγελίζωμαι αὐτὸν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εὐθέως οὐ προσανεθέμην σαρκὶ καὶ αἵματι
I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia.
Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days.18Ἔπειτα μετὰ τρία ἔτη ἀνῆλθον εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα ἱστορῆσαι Κηφᾶν καὶ ἐπέμεινα πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡμέρας δεκαπέντε
I saw none of the other apostles--only James, the Lord's brother.19ἕτερον δὲ τῶν ἀποστόλων οὐκ εἶδον εἰ μὴ Ἰάκωβον τὸν ἀδελφὸν τοῦ Κυρίου
I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie.20 δὲ γράφω ὑμῖν ἰδοὺ ἐνώπιον τοῦ Θεοῦ ὅτι οὐ ψεύδομαι
Then I went to Syria and Cilicia.21Ἔπειτα ἦλθον εἰς τὰ κλίματα τῆς Συρίας καὶ τῆς Κιλικίας
I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.22ἤμην δὲ ἀγνοούμενος τῷ προσώπῳ ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς Ἰουδαίας ταῖς ἐν Χριστῷ
They only heard the report: "The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy."23μόνον δὲ ἀκούοντες ἦσαν ὅτι διώκων ἡμᾶς ποτε νῦν εὐαγγελίζεται τὴν πίστιν ἥν ποτε ἐπόρθει
And they praised God because of me.24καὶ ἐδόξαζον ἐν ἐμοὶ τὸν Θεόν
