Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.1Τῇ ἐλευθερίᾳ ἡμᾶς Χριστὸς ἠλευθέρωσεν στήκετε οὖν καὶ μὴ πάλιν ζυγῷ δουλείας ἐνέχεσθε
Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.2Ἴδε ἐγὼ Παῦλος λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐὰν περιτέμνησθε Χριστὸς ὑμᾶς οὐδὲν ὠφελήσει
And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law.3μαρτύρομαι δὲ πάλιν παντὶ ἀνθρώπῳ περιτεμνομένῳ ὅτι ὀφειλέτης ἐστὶν ὅλον τὸν νόμον ποιῆσαι
You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.4κατηργήθητε ἀπὸ Χριστοῦ οἵτινες ἐν νόμῳ δικαιοῦσθε τῆς χάριτος ἐξεπέσατε
For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.5Ἡμεῖς γὰρ Πνεύματι ἐκ πίστεως ἐλπίδα δικαιοσύνης ἀπεκδεχόμεθα
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.6ἐν γὰρ Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ οὔτε περιτομή τι ἰσχύει οὔτε ἀκροβυστία ἀλλὰ πίστις δι’ ἀγάπης ἐνεργουμένη
You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?7Ἐτρέχετε καλῶς τίς ὑμᾶς ἐνέκοψεν ‹τῇ› ἀληθείᾳ μὴ πείθεσθαι
This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you.8 πεισμονὴ οὐκ ἐκ τοῦ καλοῦντος ὑμᾶς
A little leaven leavens the whole lump.9μικρὰ ζύμη ὅλον τὸ φύραμα ζυμοῖ
I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.10ἐγὼ πέποιθα εἰς ὑμᾶς ἐν Κυρίῳ ὅτι οὐδὲν ἄλλο φρονήσετε δὲ ταράσσων ὑμᾶς βαστάσει τὸ κρίμα ὅστις ἐὰν
And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.11Ἐγὼ δέ ἀδελφοί εἰ περιτομὴν ἔτι κηρύσσω τί ἔτι διώκομαι ἄρα κατήργηται τὸ σκάνδαλον τοῦ σταυροῦ
I could wish that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!12Ὄφελον καὶ ἀποκόψονται οἱ ἀναστατοῦντες ὑμᾶς
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.13Ὑμεῖς γὰρ ἐπ’ ἐλευθερίᾳ ἐκλήθητε ἀδελφοί μόνον μὴ τὴν ἐλευθερίαν εἰς ἀφορμὴν τῇ σαρκί ἀλλὰ διὰ τῆς ἀγάπης δουλεύετε ἀλλήλοις
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”14 γὰρ πᾶς νόμος ἐν ἑνὶ λόγῳ πεπλήρωται ἐν τῷ Ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν
But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!15εἰ δὲ ἀλλήλους δάκνετε καὶ κατεσθίετε βλέπετε μὴ ὑπ’ ἀλλήλων ἀναλωθῆτε
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.16Λέγω δέ Πνεύματι περιπατεῖτε καὶ ἐπιθυμίαν σαρκὸς οὐ μὴ τελέσητε
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.17 γὰρ σὰρξ ἐπιθυμεῖ κατὰ τοῦ Πνεύματος τὸ δὲ Πνεῦμα κατὰ τῆς σαρκός ταῦτα γὰρ ἀλλήλοις ἀντίκειται ἵνα μὴ ἐὰν θέλητε ταῦτα ποιῆτε
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.18εἰ δὲ Πνεύματι ἄγεσθε οὐκ ἐστὲ ὑπὸ νόμον
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,19Φανερὰ δέ ἐστιν τὰ ἔργα τῆς σαρκός ἅτινά ἐστιν πορνεία ἀκαθαρσία ἀσέλγεια
idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,20εἰδωλολατρία φαρμακεία ἔχθραι ἔρις ζῆλος θυμοί ἐριθεῖαι διχοστασίαι αἱρέσεις
envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.21φθόνοι μέθαι κῶμοι καὶ τὰ ὅμοια τούτοις προλέγω ὑμῖν καθὼς προεῖπον ὅτι οἱ τὰ τοιαῦτα πράσσοντες βασιλείαν Θεοῦ οὐ κληρονομήσουσιν
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,22 δὲ καρπὸς τοῦ Πνεύματός ἐστιν ἀγάπη χαρά εἰρήνη μακροθυμία χρηστότης ἀγαθωσύνη πίστις
gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.23πραΰτης ἐγκράτεια κατὰ τῶν τοιούτων οὐκ ἔστιν νόμος
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.24Οἱ δὲ τοῦ Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ τὴν σάρκα ἐσταύρωσαν σὺν τοῖς παθήμασιν καὶ ταῖς ἐπιθυμίαις
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.25Εἰ ζῶμεν Πνεύματι Πνεύματι καὶ στοιχῶμεν
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.26μὴ γινώμεθα κενόδοξοι ἀλλήλους προκαλούμενοι ἀλλήλοις φθονοῦντες
