| 1A Psalm of Asaph. The Mighty One, God the LORD, Has spoken and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down. | 1God, the LORD, has spoken. He has summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting place. |
| 2Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth. | 2From Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined forth. |
| 3Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. | 3Our God has appeared and he has not been silent; a devouring fire blazed before him, and a mighty storm swirled around him. |
| 4He shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that He may judge His people: | 4He summoned the heavens above and the earth below, to sit in judgment on his people. |
| 5“Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” | 5"Assemble before me, my saints, who have entered into my covenant by sacrifice." |

| 8I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me. | 8I do not rebuke you because of your sacrifices; indeed, your burnt offerings are continuously before me. |
| 9I will not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your folds. | 9I will no longer accept a sacrificial bull from your household; nor goats from your pens. |
| 10For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. | 10Indeed, every animal of the forest is mine, even the cattle on a thousand hills. |
| 11I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. | 11I know all the birds in the mountains; indeed, everything that moves in the field is mine. |
| 12“If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness. | 12"If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is mine along with everything in it. |
| 13Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats? | 13Why should I eat the flesh of oxen or drink the blood of goats? |
| 14Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High. | 14Offer to God a thanksgiving praise; pay your vows to the Most High. |
| 15Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” | 15Call on me in the day of distress; I will deliver you, and you will glorify me." |
| 16But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth, | 16As for the wicked, God says, "How dare you recite my statutes or speak about my covenant with your lips! |
| 17Seeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you? | 17You hate instruction and toss my words behind you. |
| 18When you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have been a partaker with adulterers. | 18When you see a thief, you befriend him, and you keep company with adulterers. |
| 19You give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit. | 19You give your mouth free reign for evil, and your tongue devises deceit. |
| 20You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son. | 20You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son. |
| 21These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes. | 21These things you did, and I kept silent, because you assumed that I was like you. But now I am going to rebuke you, and I will set forth my case before your very own eyes." |
| 22“Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver: | 22Consider this, you who have forgotten God— Otherwise, I will tear you in pieces and there will be no deliverer: |
