A Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.1Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”2O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”3But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.4Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.5The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.6The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.7I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.8I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
