To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.1To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.2From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.3For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah4I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.5For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
You will prolong the king’s life, His years as many generations.6Thou wilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations.
He shall abide before God forever. Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!7He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily perform my vows.8So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
