NKJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
A Meditation of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite. O LORD my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me,1A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning Cush, a Benjamite. O LORD my God, in You I have taken refuge; Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
Lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.2Or he will tear my soul like a lion, Dragging me away, while there is none to deliver.
O LORD my God, if I have done this: If there is iniquity in my hands,3O LORD my God, if I have done this, If there is injustice in my hands,
If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, Or have plundered my enemy without cause,4If I have rewarded evil to my friend, Or have plundered him who without cause was my adversary,
Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me; Yes, let him trample my life to the earth, And lay my honor in the dust. Selah5Let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it; And let him trample my life down to the ground And lay my glory in the dust. Selah.
Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!6Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; Lift up Yourself against the rage of my adversaries, And arouse Yourself for me; You have appointed judgment.
So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You; For their sakes, therefore, return on high.7Let the assembly of the peoples encompass You, And over them return on high.
The LORD shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me.8The LORD judges the peoples; Vindicate me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.
Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.9O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.
My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart.10My shield is with God, Who saves the upright in heart.
God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.11God is a righteous judge, And a God who has indignation every day.
If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready.12If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready.
He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.13He has also prepared for Himself deadly weapons; He makes His arrows fiery shafts.
Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood.14Behold, he travails with wickedness, And he conceives mischief and brings forth falsehood.
He made a pit and dug it out, And has fallen into the ditch which he made.15He has dug a pit and hollowed it out, And has fallen into the hole which he made.
His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.16His mischief will return upon his own head, And his violence will descend upon his own pate.
I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.17I will give thanks to the LORD according to His righteousness And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
