Psalm 3
NKJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew International Version
1A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.1A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!
2Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah2Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him."
3But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.3But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
4I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah4I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain.
5I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.5I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
6I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.6I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.
7Arise, O LORD; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.7Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.
8Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah8From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
