| 1[i]A Psalm[/i] of David. I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. | 1I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. |
| 2I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. | 2I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. |
| 3In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. | 3As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength. |
| 4All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O LORD, When they hear the words of Your mouth. | 4Every king in all the earth will thank you, LORD, for all of them will hear your words. |
| 5Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, For great is the glory of the LORD. | 5Yes, they will sing about the LORD’s ways, for the glory of the LORD is very great. |
| 6Though the LORD is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. | 6Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud. |
| 7Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. | 7Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. |
| 8The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. | 8The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. |
