NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.1O LORD, I have so many enemies; so many are against me.
Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah2So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” Interlude
But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.3But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah4I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude
I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.5I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.6I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.
Arise, O LORD; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.7Arise, O LORD! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked!
Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah8Victory comes from you, O LORD. May you bless your people. Interlude
