Psalm 84
NLT Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of Heaven’s Armies.1How lovely are your dwelling places, LORD of the Heavenly Armies.
I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the LORD. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God.2I desire and long for the Temple courts of the LORD. My heart and body sing for joy to the living God.
Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young at a place near your altar, O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God!3Even the sparrow found a house for herself and the swallow a nest to lay her young at your altar, LORD of the Heavenly Armies, my king and God.
What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises. Interlude4How happy are those who live in your Temple, for they can praise you continuously. Interlude
What joy for those whose strength comes from the LORD, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.5How happy are those whose strength is in you, whose heart is on your path.
When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings.6They will pass through the Baca Valley where he will prepare a spring for them; even the early rain will cover it with blessings.
They will continue to grow stronger, and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem.7They will walk from strength to strength; each will appear before God in Zion.
O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies, hear my prayer. Listen, O God of Jacob. Interlude8LORD God of the Heavenly Armies, hear my prayer! Listen, God of Jacob! Interlude
O God, look with favor upon the king, our shield! Show favor to the one you have anointed.9God, look at our shield, and show favor to your anointed,
A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.10for a day in your Temple courts is better than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather stand at the entrance of God's house than live in the tent of wickedness.
For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.11For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD grants grace and favor; the LORD will not withhold any good thing from those who walk blamelessly.
O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you.12LORD of Heavenly Armies, how happy are those who trust in you.
