2 We always thank God for all of you, remembering you in our prayers We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; We always give thanks to God for all of you, making mention <i>of you</i> in our prayers; We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.
3 and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; constantly keeping in mind your work of faith and labor of love and perseverance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father, We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Brothers who are beloved by God, we know that He has chosen you, For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. knowing, brothers <i>and sisters,</i> beloved by God, <i>His</i> choice of you; For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you,
5 because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with great conviction— just as you know we lived among you for your sake. because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sakes. because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.
6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord when you welcomed the message with the joy of the Holy Spirit, in spite of your great suffering. And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word during great affliction with the joy of the Holy Spirit, You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.
7 As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
8 For not only did the message of the Lord ring out from you to Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone out to every place, so that we have no need to say anything more. For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place <i>the news of</i> your faith toward God has gone out, so that we have no need to say anything. The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it,
9 For they themselves report what kind of welcome you gave us, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and TRUE God For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; For they themselves report about us as to the kind of reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. 10 and to await His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead— Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath. and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
