1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and he strengthened himself against Israel. 2 And he put troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and he put garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim that Asa his father had captured. 3 And YHWH was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the former ways of David his father. He did not seek the Baals, 4 but the God of his father he sought, and in His commandments he walked, and not according to the acts of Israel. 5 And YHWH established the kingdom in his hand. And all Judah gave tribute to Jehoshaphat, and were unto him riches and honor in abundance. 6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of YHWH, and moreover he turned aside the high places and the Asherah poles from Judah. 7 And in the third year of his reign he sent his leaders Ben-hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah, 8 and with them the Levites—Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, the Levites—and with them Elishama and Jehoram the priests. 9 And they taught in Judah, and with them was the Book of the Law of YHWH, and they went around in all the cities of Judah, and they taught the people. 2 Chronicles 17:1-9, Berean Literal Bible.
