Par

Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus perceiving that his hour was come, when he was to pass out of this world, and go to the father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

while they were at supper, (the devil having now put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him) Jesus,

though he knew that the father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and was going to God,

rose from supper, laid aside his garment, and took a towel to wrap about him.

after that, he poured water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
