1Then the LORD said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. Because of My mighty hand, he shall not only let them go, he shall drive them out of his land.” 2And God also said to Moses, “I am the LORD: 3I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty; but by My name, JEHOVAH, I was not made fully known to them. 4And I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they were living as strangers. 5And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I also remember My covenant with them. 6Therefore, tell the Israelites that I am the LORD, and I will bring them out from under the burdens of the Egyptians; I will free them from their bondage, and I will redeem them with a stretched-out arm, and with great acts of judgment. 7And I will take you to be My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, Who brings you out from under the burdensome yoke of the Egyptians. 8And I will bring them into the land which I swore to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to them for a heritage: I am the LORD.” 9And so Moses related all this to the Israelites; but they would not listen, because they were so discouraged by their harsh treatment and slavery. 10And the LORD said to Moses, 11“Go in and tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his land.” 12And Moses said to the LORD, “If the Israelites will not listen to me; how then shall Pharaoh listen to me - a man with stammering lips?” 13Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, and gave them orders for the Israelites, and orders for Pharaoh; and charged Moses and Aaron with bringing the Israelites out of the land of Egypt. 14These were the heads of the Israelite families: The sons of Reuben, firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben. 15And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, son of a Canaanitish woman; these are the families of Simeon. 16And these are the names of the sons of Levi, according to their generations: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari; and Levi lived one hundred thirty-seven years. 17The sons of Gershon: Libni, and Shimei, according to their families. 18And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel; and Kohath lived one hundred thirty-three years. 19And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; these are all the families of Levi, according to their generations. 20And Amram took Jochebed, his father's sister, as his wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses; and Amram lived one hundred thirty-seven years. 21And the sons of Izhar were: Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri. 22And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan, and Zithri. 23And Aaron took Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Nahshon, as his wife; and she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 24And the sons of Korah were: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph; all these are the families of the Korahites. 25And Eleazar, Aaron's son, took one of the daughters of Putiel as his wife; and she bore him Phinehas; all these were the heads of the Levite families, according to their clans. 26These are the same Aaron and Moses, that the LORD had told, “Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their divisions.” 27They are the ones who negotiated with Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to bring the Israelites out from Egypt - that same Moses and Aaron. 28And on that day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, 29The LORD said to Moses, “I am the LORD. Say to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, all that I tell you.” 30But Moses said to the LORD, “Since I am of stammering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”
