1“For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness shines like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. 2And the nations shall see your vindication, and all kings see your glory; and you shall be called by a new name, which the LORD shall bestow upon you. 3You shall also be a crown of splendor in the hand of the LORD, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.” 4“You shall never again be termed ‘Forsaken’; nor shall your land any longer be termed ‘Desolate’; but you shall be called Hephzibah (“My delight is in her”, II Kings 21:1, Is. 62:4), and your land Beulah (“Married”); for the LORD delights in you, His bride, and your land shall be married (blessed with children). 5For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons (descendants) marry (make an appropriate commitment to) you (the city of Jerusalem); and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you, His bride. 6I have posted watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall never keep their silence day or night. You that call upon the LORD, do not relent - 7Give Him no rest until He establishes Jerusalem, until He makes her the praise of the earth. 8The LORD has sworn by His right hand, and by His mighty arm: ‘Surely I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies; or allow foreigners to drink your wine, for which you have labored; 9But those that have harvested it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they who have gathered the grapes shall drink it in the courts of My holy sanctuary.’” 10“Pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; pave the highway; remove any obstructing boulders; raise a flag for the nations. 11The LORD has proclaimed to the ends of the earth: ‘Say to Daughter Zion, “Look, your salvation comes; see, His reward is with Him, and His compensation before Him”’. 12And they shall be called, ‘The Holy People’, ‘The Redeemed of the LORD’; and you shall be called, ‘Sought After, A city no Longer Forsaken.’”
