A Psalm of David. 1Hear my prayer, O God; protect me from fear of the enemy. 2Hide me from the plots of the wicked, from the conspiracies of the unjust, 3Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows of bitter words, 4That they shoot from ambush at the innocent, without warning or fear. 5They encourage each other with their evil schemes; they talk of secretly laying traps, while saying, “Who can see them?” 6They search for ways to accomplish their evil intents. The inward thoughts in the heart of man are deep and cunning. 7But God shall shoot an arrow at them; they are suddenly struck down. 8So shall He cause them to stumble over themselves; and all who see them shall shake their heads. 9And all men shall fear, and proclaim the work of God; and wisely ponder what He has done. 10The righteous shall rejoice and trust in the LORD; and all the upright in heart shall exult and praise Him.
