As a seal, a signet ring, of great value. 2. That she may dwell in his love. "On thine heart." Also: 3. That she may enjoy the benefit of his intercession. There is allusion, apparently, to the jewels engraved as a signet, and which were on the breast of the high priest of Israel (Exodus 28:15-30). 4. That she may be defended by his might. "On thine arm." 5. That she may express and satisfy his will. As a seal does this for any writing on which it is impressed. Let not our "Amen" be lacking to such a prayer. - S.C.
