How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

A dirge in dirge metre over Jerusalem. "Harlot" is unfaithful wife. In Isaiah "unfaithfulness" is declension from social and civil righteousness.
