Profit and Loss
Matthew 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?


I. The soul's WORTH:

(1)  nature;

(2)  capacities;

(3)  immortality;

(4)  purchase-price.

II. The soul's LOSS, is loss of

(1)  holiness;

(2)  happiness;

(3)  heaven;

(4)  hope.

III. Enforce the question:

(1)  gain uncertain, loss inevitable;

(2)  gain imaginary, loss positive;

(3)  gain temporary, loss irretrievable.
