Wherefore is it More Blessed to Give than to Receive
Acts 20:35
I have showed you all things, how that so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus…


Because

I. IT DELIVERS US FROM OURSELVES; from —

1. The bonds of selfishness.

2. The cares of superfluity.

3. The burden of dependence.

II. IT UNITES US TO THE BRETHREN.

1. By their friendly attachment.

2. Their active gratitude.

3. Their blessed intercession.

III. IT BRINGS US NEARER TO OUR GOD. We are permitted to be —

1. Similar to the image of the All-Good.

2. Sharers in the delight of the All-Loving.

3. Expectants of the reward of an Eternal Rewarder.
