Isaiah 38:17-19
Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but you have in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption…


abound.

I. THE PIT.

1. Horrible.

2. Nigh to every man.

3. Treacherous at its edge.

4. Bottomless.

II. ONE CONSCIOUS OF DELIVERANCE FROM IT.

1. He attributes his deliverance to God.

2. That it was God's love, and not his merit, that originated his deliverance.

3. That all may possess this consciousness of deliverance.

4. That unless the soul is delivered it will sink into this pit eternally.
