It is limited —

I. IN ITS EXTENT; by a tender regard for the weak. Love —

1. Avoids offence.

2. Respects the convictions of others.

3. Denies itself.

II. IN ITS OBJECT; the furtherance of the kingdom of God.

1. By guarding against reproach.

2. By esteeming spiritual blessings above all others.

3. By promoting the work of God in others.

III. IN ITS RULE OF ACTION; faith.

1. Allows only what faith permits.

2. Avoids what faith does not endorse.
